M. Pharm - Pharmaceutics

The GISIPS offers M. Pharm courses with two specializations in the area of pharmaceutical sciences (Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance). These courses are useful for the candidates who wish to develop a career in the field of academics and research. Students are being facilitated by their allotted guide/s to choose the current topics of research. The institute strictly adhere on antiplagiarism policy and encourages original research work to be carried out by faculty and students. A large number of avenues are open for a challenging career in Pharmaceutical industries with higher qualification in several fields which includes Research, Regulatory affairs, New formulation of development, Marketing, Clinical project management and administration. An experienced aspirant can move up further to occupy senior positions in Pharmaceutical companies on an attractive salary packages.

Pharmaceutics is a discipline of Pharmacy which deals with the formulation and development of old and new drug molecule into dosage form to provide safe and an effective treatment to the patient.

Eligibility
  • B. Pharm Degree examination of an Indian university established by law in India from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India and has scored not less than 55 % of the maximum marks (aggregate of 4 years of B.Pharm.)
  • For Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes candidates the prescribed percentage of marks will be 50% of the maximum marks (aggregate of four years of B.Pharm) or in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government/State Government/Union Territory Administration, as the case may be, from time to time
  • Candidates with GPAT score shall be given preference on priority in admission.

Note: It is mandatory to submit a migration certificate obtained from the respective university where the candidate had passed his/her qualifying degree (B.Pharm.)

Components of the Postgraduate Curriculum :
Major components at a glance-

  • Training in research methodology.
Major exposure-
  • Basics of statistics and understanding on critical
    evaluation of published research paper.
  • Lectures on exposure to human behavior studies.
  • Basic understanding of pharmaco-economics.
  • Introduction to the non-linear mathematics.
 

Syllabus : The syllabus for each subject of study shall as may be prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India from time to time.

Scope
1. Pharmaceutical Industry prefers M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics) because it deals with R&D. Pharmaceutics is effectevely involved in formulation and development, Production and takes an intitative to drive the entire Regulatory Affairs.
2. M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics) is a backbone of Pharmaceutical Industry.
3. GPAT qualified candidates are eligible for scholarships from AICTE, New Delhi.
